Moose Hunting

Outfitter - Moose hunting in Quebec, Canada

Air Mont-Laurier and its outfitting facilities have quite a past history and its unfolding gave rise to all sorts of situations, which could very well inspire our President, Norman Ouellette, when he sits down to write his memoirs of 48 adventure-thrilling years.

Exceptional shelter for moose

Choosing the right territory was therefore of prime importance. The first to be selected and developed in 1976 was Tiberiade Outfitter. Divided by the Nemikachi River, the terrain is exceedingly rough and an exceptional moose reserve. Natural passes are the only migration routes and it is a known fact, that hunting in Tiberiade sub-territories provides great thrills. A natural lake system allows pike and walleye fishing expeditions in untrammelled nature, where one can enjoy an unscheduled life.

Nine housekeeping cabins

Comfortable lodging which will meet our customer expectations. A trail network leads to neighbouring lakes where tree stands have been built in strategic places. Boat and/or canoe are available for hunters and fishermen where necessary.

Tiberiade Outfitter! It’s reliving the olden days of fifty years ago.

This exclusive territory is subdivided in nine (9) individual hunting territories where hunters are on their own. Each cabin is housekeeping style. Lightning, oven, refrigerator and hot water system are propane working equipments. Running water is provided through a water gravity system powered by a gas pump easy to use.

For your safety, propane equipment using rules must be followed as described in the brochure available in each cabin.

Boats, motors and gas are available at each cabin. A clean and well maintained trail network gives access to some adjacent lake and marsh where boats and/or canoes are available either to fish and to hunt. Three stands or towers are already installed to specifics spots to hunt.

Support equipments are available into each cabin to help moose hunters to handle moose quarters especially when the animal must be pulled out from water. It is important to take great care of these equipments so next groups can use them as well.

As soon as the moose is killed, the yellow side board must be placed on the dock with the head beside so we can be informed that a moose has to be carried back in our cold room at the main seaplane base. Several groups rent a satellite phone, we ask to these groups to call to advise us.

A Red and Yellow side board is hung in the cabin. It is used on Red side for emergency and Yellow side for assistance of any kind. Red, we will be near you within thirty minutes the latest and Yellow within two hours.
